Hi, I’m Karl and I run KG Media, a company created from 2 passions of mine; business and video.
I started my video production career back in 2010 and I’ve had an amazing journey along the way. My first gig pulled me out of Pittsburgh and sent me over to the middle of Ohio for 3 years to work as an in-house Video Producer for one of the world’s largest aftermarket German car parts distributors in ECS Tuning. It was a dream job in a sense, having grown up with a Dad who owned a German Automotive Repair Shop. I was (and still am) a huge German car enthusiast, so you can imagine what this job meant to me. I got to create promotional and how-to videos about all the different car parts we sold. This is where I got my first taste of just how powerful video can be for accelerating businesses. Three years in Ohio was long enough, so I moved back to Pittsburgh to continue my video production career. Today, a lot of my work comes from a company called ClubCom. At ClubCom, I produce videos for a national audience inside all 24 Hour Fitness gyms nation-wide. Fitness videos, lifestyle videos, nutrition videos…the types of things you’d expect to see on a TV screen in a gym.
Along the way, I got into freelancing on the side. Which is where KG Media was born. In the early days, I was young and hungry and would take on any job I could get. I shot my fair share of weddings, high school sports, and event coverage. I got into some work for local musicians and even helped a few couples announce their pregnancies with video. All those jobs were fun and all, and I genuinely enjoyed most of those moments. But along the way, I discovered where my real passion lies within the industry…and that’s with helping other businesses succeed with video. The first few years of my career were dedicated to learning and mastering my craft in creating videos. The last few years of my career have been dedicated to learning how videos provide value to businesses. I’m constantly learning new techniques on how to bring in new clients, how to save you time, how to build relationships, and how to close the deal…all with video. Each and every project that comes through KG Media comes directly through me. I like to consider myself a partner of each and every one of my clients, like an extension of your team, or your dedicated “video guy”.
